Bu nümunədə Sue saatı tapmağın mümkünlüyünü bilir və bunun üçün də “if I find..,I’ll..” ifadəsini işlədir.
Joe isə deyir:
If I found a wallet in the street,I’d take it to the police station.
Gördüyünüz kimi situasiyalar fərqlidir. Burada hadisə keçmiş zamanda təsvir olunduğu üçün “if I found..,I’d (=I would)” deyilir.
Əgər biz nəyisə təsəvvür etdiyimiz zaman “if + past (if I found/if there was/ if we didn’t və s.)
Amma “If there was (were) an election tomorrow,who would you vote for?” tipli cümlələr keçmişdə deyil.
Normalda “if” olan cümlələrdə “would” işlənmir.Lakin,biz kimdənsə nəsə xahiş edərkən bu hal baş verə bilər.
“Could” və “might” da cümlədə “would” -un əvəzinə istifadə edilə bilər..
If you took more exercise,you might feel better.
If it stopped raining,we could go out.
Onu da qeyd edək ki bu tip cümlələrdə “when” işlənmir:
They’d be upset if I didn’t go to their party. (“when I didn’t go”demirik)
